And night falls, a new year begins, and the buds push through, and I remember that spring will come, and the seasons will shift, and the sun will make more regular appearances and the forest continues its daily work of supporting a vast number of species and ecosystems.
I will carry on, hauling my gear out into the woods, drawing and painting, as long as I’m upright, believing in humanity – that we are opening our eyes to climate change, hoping our communities continue to prioritize the preservation of green spaces for our mental health, working together to limit invasive species that threaten to take over natural environments, and continuing to educate the next generation about the urgent needs to modify our current lifestyle’s for the health and sustainability of our planet. I’ll continue with my commitment and dedication as an artist, contributing to our culture, our lives, our education, and wellbeing of Olympia and beyond.
